Tiberio Simone, owner and chef of La Figa Catering, grew up cooking at home with his mother and grandmother in Southern Italy. He continues their tradition of simple, delicious and colorful food in his adopted home of Seattle. A former Pastry Chef of the Four Season Olympic Hotel in Seattle, James Beard Award winner and winner of Washington NARAL's Chocolate for Choice, Simone often donates his time and food to support local community ventures.

Simone is currently collaborating with Seattle photographer Matt Freedman on La Figa: Visions of Food and Form, a book and photo series of posed nudes adorned with painstakingly arranged ingredients – bodies covered in lemon, lime and orange slices; painted with chocolate; sprinkled with seeds; buried in berries. Both sensual chef and food artist, Simone brings a heightened sense of eroticism to the gourmet experience, highlighting his philosophy that a person needs both good food and touch to thrive.
